THE GOODTIME SPECIALS ARE A BAND THAT PLAYS A RUCKUS AND
SOMETIMES-RAMBLING BLEND OF ORIGINAL ALTERNATIVE COUNTRY.

 

The group formed in 2010 in Calgary, Alberta with three members, Matt Easton (vocals, guitar), John Acheson (vocals, banjo) and Brad van Paridon (bass). Their vocal-driven melodies and catchy riffs were good, but their sound really came together with the addition of Matt Walkey (drums) and Mathieu Pruvot (keys). Since then bars, outdoor crowds and house parties have been awash in a special sort of good time.

The end of 2013 saw the boys release their first, completely independent EP, Good Enough. This EP is a testament to their vagabond style, ranging from hard rockers, melodic ballads and lyrics influenced by Alberta history. This collection of 12 original songs just begins to reveal the roots that they grew from.

 

They are currently in the lab working on their next full length offering to be released spring summer 2014. With this upcoming release, the stage is set for the Goodtime Specials to take their sound across western Canada.
